We are proud to share that Dougherty Apartments was recognised across three categories at the national Future of Ageing Awards in November 2025, including two major award wins.

These awards celebrate organisations that are redefining ageing through innovation, creativity, and a strong commitment to quality care and community. Being acknowledged among leading providers nationally reflects the dedication of our residents, families, staff, volunteers, and partners. We also extend our sincere thanks to the judges and Inside Ageing for this recognition.

Leader of the Year Winner

We are delighted that our Chief Executive Officer, Kelvin Neave, was recognised as the winner of this category. This award reflects his leadership and the collective commitment of the Dougherty Apartments team to place residents at the centre of everything we do. We thank the Future of Ageing Awards for this honour.

Technology – Customer Experience Award Winner

We were also honoured to receive the Technology – Customer Experience Award for our innovative use of NeuronsVR. This technology enhances resident engagement, wellbeing, and connection by enabling immersive experiences that support joy, memory, and meaningful exploration.

We extend our thanks to Shane and the team at NeuronsVR for their partnership and ongoing support in helping us improve the health and wellbeing of residents.

Finalist – Social Inclusion

Dougherty Apartments was also named a finalist in the Social Inclusion category, recognising our ongoing commitment to inclusion, choice, independence, and high-quality care and services.

In addition, Kelvin Neave was a finalist for the Ageing Australia “You are ACE” Individual – Innovation Award in August 2025 and was also nominated for a Westfield Local Hero Award later in the year.

These achievements reflect the collaboration, creativity, and compassion that define the Dougherty Apartments community. To our residents, families, staff, volunteers, Board, and partners, thank you for your trust and contribution.
