About Us
The Dougherty Apartments Retirement Housing Project Ltd is a Company limited by guarantee and was constructed as a joint venture between Willoughby City Council and the NSW Department of Housing. The Directors of the Company consist of equal representation from Willoughby City Council and the NSW Department of Housing.
The residents of Dougherty Apartments are the retired, aged and disabled. The age range of our residents is between 55 and 100 years.
The majority of our residents are active members of our community, and Dougherty’s philosophy is to encourage residents to maintain their independence, including their links with the community, for as long as practicable.
This is made easier by the close proximity to transport and the Dougherty Community Centre adjacent. The Dougherty Community Centre runs many courses and social activities and has a restaurant/cafe which is open Monday to Friday.
